I think I just experienced an ultimately awesome season opener! And there is no way for me to talk about anything without giving spoilers, so make the jump if you wanna read.
Arrow, as I mentioned before, is a show I've been waiting to get back to. I was totally rocked by so many shocking moments. While I'm intrigued about actress Summer Glau being in the show, I truly despise her character. Both Roy Harper and the (show only) Thea Queen, Oliver's sister, have kept their characters well and of course grown because that's what happens with the youth.
Queen himself had a slight "oh woe is me" moment thankfully, he got over it. Felicity and Diggle were all, "alright let's fix the city." Kind of super chipper from the last season, but I'm liking it. Detective Lance was demoted, sad but we'll work with it. I'm sure he'll be promoted in due time. The storyline on the island has progressed, which results in no random plot holes. Random people have shown up on a deserted island, why? Laurel...eh...I was digging he character's "growth" but it's only been one episode so we'll see.
Now for the two parts that made me lose my mind. Harper was rescued from three thugs by a woman dressed in a black tight ensemble with blonde and what I believed to be a black domino mask. If the shown doesn't reveal her to be Dinah Laurel Lance dressing as "Black Canary," I may throw something at my television.
And then finally, they torture us for a whole season of calling him "The Hood" to now revealing he wants a new name while staring at his green tipped arrow. Plus, Felicity not only upgraded his bow, which looks sexy if I may say so, she also hinted at upgrading his ammunition.
So, my Star City hero may be going by the alias "Green Arrow" who is trying not to have a body count by shooting trick arrows and may in the future confront a woman possibly going by the name "Black Canary?"
I get to have my cake and eat it? *gasp*
